    Hey (hey hey) Al, been following you since my twenties, and now I'm also in my fourties... Being a Software Developer, and having two kids left me kind of fat and lazy (covid-19 wasn't helping either). So right now I'm working hard on regaining the fitness I had before the kids (I used to work out a lot...).
    I really love the exercices you selected, because that back pain my colleagues +40 and I have is defo coming from tight hamstrings and psoas. Furthermore, twisting is always a good idea!

    ok . I'm game. I am 60. I am not sure how that happened - however, I too clocked that the more supple one is, the less likely to fall badly one is. and as I know older people who fall badly ? It can and often is the end. thanks for this. I will have a look at some more of you.

    Hey hey Al, love your videos. Im a 16 year old who used to work out calisthenics exercises with very bad form, every single day, (Bounced at the bottom of pullups, overexented arms in push-ups, etc) I developed several injuries, (tennis elbow and shoulder problems) that was 4 years ago, mostly recovered, any advice on how to come back to calisthenics? Thanks a lot!

  • @revspag
    @revspag Год назад +1

    Hey, hey, hey, Al. I have watched a few of your videos (also subscribed) and am interested in beginning calisthenics (body weight exercises) but I am unsure where to begin.
    I am a 44 y.o. male with advanced arthritis and a lot of muscle atrophy due to lack of mobility. For a few years I was very sick @ 235lbs and at 5'8" that's a little on the heavy side. So I have dropped weight (145lbs) keto diet which helps control inflammation along with starting a beginner yoga practice. However, I would like to gain more muscle and just feel over-all stronger so I thought of body weight exercises.
    Because of arthritis and some other health issues (L4/L5 spinal fusion), I feel that less weight and more calisthenics are the answer. Is there any advice you would recommend for someone with my concerns?
    Best wishes,
    Anthony

    Hi Al,
    During pushups, must the fingers and thumbs be fully straight and touching the ground, or may they be a little bent (slightly clawing the ground)? In the past, making them very straight seemed to cause issues with my elbows.

    • @alkavadlo

      If you are just training for cardio/endurance, that sounds like a decent routine. But if you want to be strong and well rounded, it's not enough.

    The yoga plow pose is a difficult one. I can get there, but my knees are horribly bent. How do I straighten my legs and point my toes? Just keep practicing until it happens? Helicopter is fun!!!😁

    It's not the same 'helicopter' I saw in a film, I have to conclude. The one I saw included a female partner lying on her back, and the guy on her belly did multiple 360 rotations without leaving her even once🙂
